co-prime bill sponsor, presented House Bill 22-1414, concerning providing
healthy meals to all public school students. Conditional upon voter approval
at the November 2022 election, the bill creates the Healthy School Meals
for All Program, establishes a funding mechanism for the program, and requires
the state to participate in the federal demonstration program for Medicaid
direct certification.


A handout was
provided to the committee (Attachment C). Representative Gonzales-Gutierrez
and Representative Michaelson Jenet answered questions from the committee.
