Senator Winter, bill sponsor, explained Senate Bill 22-019, concerning access to automatically suppressed court records of eviction proceedings. She discussed technical changes in the bill that allows for access to client files. 

She distributed Amendment L. 001 to add mediators to those who may access eviction related documents (Attachment A).

Mr. Jack Regenbogen, representing Colorado Poverty Law Project, testified in support of the bill.  He discussed the importance of attorney and mediator access to client files.

Aubrey Hasvold, representing Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, testified in support of the bill. She discussed eviction filing records and housing searches. 

Committee members asked questions about pro bono mediator services.
