prime sponsor, introduced HB21-1056 concerning public projects supervised
by the Department of Transportation (CDOT) that are subject to the Construction
Bidding for Public Projects Act.  Currently, CDOT is subject to the
act if a project is expected to exceed $150,000.  The bill raises
the amount to $500,000.  In addition, the bill raises the project
cost amount for which CDOT must obtain Transportation Commission approval
from $50,000 to $100,000.  Finally, the bill limits existing requirements
that CDOT pay local prevailing wages on specified federal acts to projects
that cost more than $500,000.
