Representative Pettersen, chair, welcomed the committee and audience. Representative Wilson made a statement about the introduction and scheduling process for House Bill 16-1422, which funds public schools in Colorado. Representatives Rankin and Hamner, co-sponsors, presented the bill, went over its provisions, and responded to questions from the committee. Representative Hamner distributed a memorandum from Craig Harper, Joint Budget Committee staff (Attachment A).
