Representative Willett and Representative Arndt, co-prime bill sponsors, presented House Bill 17-1113. The bill gives the Executive Committee of Legislative Council the power to allow members of the General Assembly to participate electronically in committee meetings during the interim. A majority of members must attend a meeting in person for a committee to hold a vote, and only members attending the meeting in person are permitted to vote. Members who participate electronically may receive per diem or other compensation they are otherwise entitled to claim for attendance at the meeting, but may not be reimbursed for any expenses incurred to participate electronically. Representative Willett provided a handout to the committee (Attachment A). Representative Willett answered questions from the committee.
