Reps. Lawrence and Roberts introduced House Bill 18-1290.  The bill implements the recommendations of the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) in its 2017 sunset review of the Certification of Conservation Easement Holders in the Division of Real Estate in DORA, and continues the certification program until September 1, 2025.  Reps. Roberts and Lawrence answered several committee questions.  

 

The chair announced that the committee will take testimony on both House Bill 18-1290 and House Bill 18-1291 at the same time.  The committee will then vote on the bills seperately.

Rep. Bridges introduced House Bill 18-1275. Under current law, an applicant for the Craig Hospital special license plate must make a $20 donation to Craig Hospital before issuance. This bill repeals the required $20 donation.

Mr. Kenny Hosack, representing Craig Hospital, testified in support of the bill.

Reps. Winter and Thurlow introduced House Bill 18-1291. The bill implements the recommendations of DORA in its 2017 sunset review of the Conservation Easement Oversight Commission in the Division of Real Estate in DORA. The bill also makes modifications to the composition of commission, reduces membership from nine to seven members, and converts the commission from a Type 2 Agency to a Type 1 Agency, permitting the commission to exercise its powers, duties, and functions independent from the Division of Real Estate. Reps. Winter and Thurlow answered several committee questions.

Ms. Stacy McPhail, representing Gunnison Ranchland Conservation Legacy, testified in support of House Bill 18-1290 and House Bill 18-1291.
