Speaker Duran, chair, called the meeting to order.  Roll call was taken.  She invited Liz Rita, CEO and Senior Investigator of Investigations Law Group, to come to the table to speak about the proposal her group submitted in response to the Request for Proposals (RFP) [Attachment A].  Ms. Rita spoke about the firm's diverse skill set, and the opportunity for the legislature to form the next generation policy pertaining to workplace harassment.

Ms. Rita answered questions from the committee concerning her firm's prior consulting projects as they relate to workplace culture, relevant investigations her firm has performed, and how her firm would contact employees when performing a survey of the current culture at the Capitol.  She discussed the importance of survey design and the wording used, and the selection criteria for those who will be surveyed. Committee members asked about her firm's approach when it comes to interviewing those who have been victims of workplace harassment.

Ms. Rita talked about the importance of trauma-informed interviewing, and provided closing remarks. She answered additional questions from the committee.

Speaker Duran invited Rebecca Page, Founder and Co-Owner of Human Resources Plus, Inc., to the table.  Ms. Page provided background information about her company and reviewed several portions of the proposal her firm submitted in response to the RFP, which can be found as Attachment A.  Ms. Page responded to questions from the committee.  She discussed her prior experience that would be relevant to this project.

Ms. Page continued to answer questions from the committee regarding addressing confidentiality when interviewing a person who has been a victim of harassment.  Ms. Page provided closing remarks.  The committee members discussed what outcomes they would like to see after the consulting process has concluded.

The committee came back to order.  Speaker Duran invited Susan Sperber and Tamara Goodlette from Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie to come to the table to speak about the proposal the firm submitted in response to the RFP, which can be found as Attachment A.  Ms. Sperber spoke in further detail about several aspects of the proposal.

The presenters answered questions from the committee.  They spoke about their relevant employment practice experience working with churches and schools.  The committee members answered a question from the presenters about what outcomes they would like to achieve as a result of the project.

The committee discussed the importance of protecting victim confidentiality and the need to change the culture at the Capitol.  The presenters answered questions from the committee.

Speaker Duran invited former Senator Linda Newell to the table to present the proposal she submitted in response to the RFP, which can be found as Attachment A.
