Prioritization of FY 2023-24 IT Capital Budget Requests - Committee Discussion Only

The committee began a lengthy discussion on the FY 2023-24 IT Capital Budget Request prioritization. The committee will then send the prioritized list to the Joint Budget Committee.

Ms. Reilly gave an overview of the Senate Bill 23-142 Information Technology Project Appropriation Process, how it would impact the Joint Technology Committee, and that the vote today is advisory to the next body. Senator Bridges with the Joint Budget Committee came to give an overview of the bill which concerns the appropriation process for information technology projects submitted to the General Assembly by certain state entities.

of Information Technology (OIT), to encourage OIT and Colorado Broadband
Office to follow the lead of several other states that have published draft
Capital Projects Rules with an open comment period. The letter is included
as Attachment A.
