Prioritization of FY 2023-24 IT Capital Budget Requests - Committee Discussion Only

The committee started
a lengthy discussion on the FY 2023-24 IT Capital Budget Request prioritization.


Representative
Titone asked about budget requests and how they relate to agile development.
Ms. Reilly gave information about the phasing of budget requests. Tony
Gheradini and Sarah Clark with the Department of Personnel Administration
(DPA) came to give more information about DPA's Payroll Modernization project
and how they would be impacted if not fully funded. Scott McKimmy with
the Department of Corrections (DOC) gave information about their funding
request.

The committee continued
to discuss prioritization at length. The committee continued to adjust
the prioritization. Michael McReynolds and Julia Richman with the Office
of Information Technology gave feedback on the proposed change to their
funding. Dr. Chris Wells with the Department of Public Health and Environment
(CDPHE) gave more information about their VESCO project. Dr. Wells responded
to questions from the committee.

Emily Hanson with the the Colorado Department of Human Services gave more information about their funding request. The committee asked Ms. Hanson about the project. Mr. McKimmy came back up to talk about their DeCORuM project and the implications of it not being fully funded.

to have departments report to the committee quarterly and monthly for a
select few.
