Senator Bridges,
sponsor, presented House Bill 23-035, which concerns the operation of the
Middle-income Housing Authority.  The bill adds members to the board
of directors and expands the power of the authority to enter into public-private
partnerships  Senator Bridges gave opening comments and answered questions
from the committee.

Prioritize Letter Interim Committee Requests - Committee Discussion Only

Natalie Castle, Director,
Legislative Council Staff (LCS), explained the interim committee request
process and procedures.  She explained that LCS has funding for eight
meetings with an average of eight members for each meeting.  Each
letter request can be found
here.

Jenet and Representative Young presented interim committee request (ICR)
2023-1, which concerns Colorado's child welfare system.  They provided
an overview of the request and explained that although they requested 10
meetings in the letter, they would like to amend the request to lower the
number to five meetings.  They answered questions from the committee.
