Senator Hill, chair, welcomed the committee members and audience to the meeting. He invited the appointees to the Colorado Student Leaders Institute (COSLI) Executive Board to the table: Darren Spreeuw, Christena Estes Faraci, Jason Hanson, Brian Yates, Rosann Ward, Genia Herndon, and Ledy Garcia-Eckstein. Copies of the Governor's appointment letter and their applications and resumes were distributed (Attachment A). Each appointee told the committee about his or her background, and why he or she would like to be appointed to the COSLI board.

01:54 PM -- Confirmation of Colorado State University System Board Of Governors



Senator Hill invited Tony Frank, President of Colorado State University (CSU), to the table to introduce the appointee and reappointees to the CSU System Board of Governors. Copies of the Governor's appointment letter and their applications and resumes were distributed (Attachment B). President Frank provided background information about the CSU system, and the board appointees told the committee why they would like to be appointed or reappointed to the board. They answered questions from the committee.

The committee came back to order. Senator Newell, sponsor, presented House Bill 16-1098 which concerns updates to provisions related to school discipline reporting. She distributed amendment L.004 (Attachment C) and explained the amendment.

Arnold Hanuman, representing the Colorado District Attorneys' Council, and Maureen Cain, representing the Colorado Criminal Defense Institute, came to the table together to speak in support of the bill. They answered questions from the committee.
