Senator Neville took over as committee chair.  Senator Hill, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 18-260 which concerns implementing a sunrise review of new educational services under the Private Occupational School Division in the Department of Higher Education.  He distributed amendment L.001 [Attachment A].

Inta Morris and Mary Kanaly, representing the Department of Higher Education and Division of Private Occupational Schools, spoke about the bill.  They provided background information and answered questions from the committee.

The previous two witnesses continued to answer questions from the committee.

Senator Coram, co-sponsor, presented House Bill 18-1002 which concerns teaching fellowship programs to assist rural school districts in hiring high-quality teachers and creates the "Rural Teacher Grow Your Own Educator Act".

Matt Gianneschi and Barbara Johnson, representing Colorado Mountain College, came to the table to speak in support of the bill. The witnesses answered questions from the committee.

There were no more witnesses so Senator Hill closed public testimony. The committee took a brief recess.
