Presentation from Colorado Digital Services and Empowered Learning - Committee Discussion Only

Ken Haptonstall, Director of the Colorado
River Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), Ed Vandertook,
Superintendent of North Park School District, and Dan Morris, Colorado
Digital Learning Solutions, came to the table to update the committee on
supplemental online learning programs.  They distributed several handouts
to the committee (Attachments I through M).

Dale McCall, Executive Director of the Colorado BOCES, explained the history and purpose of BOCES, as well as several federal laws pertaining to students with disabilities and how BOCES are utilized to meet the federal requirements.

Mr. McCall continued his presentation and provided updates on legislation passed in recent years and how new programs have been implemented by various BOCES around Colorado.

Mr. Haptonstall spoke about the alternative licensure program, specifically on the Western Slope.
