President Garcia and Minority Leader Holbert, co-sponsors, presented Senate Bill 20-095, which concerns providing information concerning concurrent enrollment to parents of middle school students. The co-sponsors provided opening comments on the bill and distributed amendments L.001 and L.002 (Attachments A and B).

Dale McCall, Executive Director of the Colorado BOCES, explained the history and purpose of BOCES, as well as several federal laws pertaining to students with disabilities and how BOCES are utilized to meet the federal requirements.

Mr. McCall continued his presentation and provided updates on legislation passed in recent years and how new programs have been implemented by various BOCES around Colorado.

Mr. Haptonstall spoke about the alternative licensure program, specifically on the Western Slope.

The presenters continued to discuss the importance and impact of shared services. Committee members made comments.
