In order to assist coal transition workers and communities, the bill creates the Just Transition Office in the Division of Employment and Training as a type 2 transfer in the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Beginning in 2025, the director-led office will administer benefits to coal transition workers and grants to eligible coal transition communities. Speaker Becker responded to comments from the committee about the bill.
