Mark Ferrandino,
Executive Director of the Department of Revenue (DOR), gave the JTC an
update on the Sales and Use Tax Simplification (SUTS) system.  All

Director Ferrandino
discussed the creation of SUTS through Senate Bill 19-006,  DOR's
IT solutions and the status of each system, and the progress of SUTS.

and Brendon Reese, Senior Director of the Taxation Division at DOR, responded
to questions from the committee about the increased use of SUTS, the SUTS
ongoing operating budget, home rule municipalities,  why certain home
rule municipalities haven't joined the system yet, and the SUTS go-live
date of April 1, 2021.

Council Staff, discussed the JTC's role in reviewing operating budget requests
that the Joint Budget Committee (JBC) refers to the JTC.



Director Ferrandino responded to questions from the committee about the
requested funds in the operating budget request.
