and Gonzales-Gutierrez, prime sponsors, presented House Bill 22-1211, concerning
the continuation of the committee on juvenile justice reform, and, in connection
therewith, implementing the recommendation contained in the 2021 sunset
report by the department of regulatory agencies to sunset the committee
on juvenile justice reform.  Representative Soper introduced the bill,
and Representative Gonzales-Gutierrez explained its effect.

Joe Thome, representing the Division of Criminal Justice within the Department of Public Safety, made some opening remarks on HB 22-1211 and made himself available for questions.

Kelly Abbott, representing the Division of Criminal Justice within the Department of Public Safety, made some opening remarks and made herself available for questions.

Ms. Abbott responded to questions regarding what will happen to the children impacted by the programming conducted by the Committee on Juvenile Justice Reform once it is sunset, and certain evaluation tools used by the committee. Ms. Abbott and Mr. Thome responded to questions regarding the disposition of the Juvenile Community Review Board under the bill. Mr. Thome responded to questions regarding continuation of Committee on Juvenile Justice Reform activities once it is sunset. Discussion returned to the risk evaluation tools.
