Representatives Buentello and Pelton, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 19-1132, concerning school incentives to use Colorado food and producers. The bill, as amended by the Rural Affairs and Agriculture Committee (Attachment D), creates two grant programs to encourage the purchase of Colorado products for use in federally subsidized meals in public schools and residential child care centers. The two grants are the Colorado Food Products Purchasing Incentives Grant Program and the Local School Food Purchasing Technical Assistance and Education Grant Program. Representative Buentello distributed Amendment L.004, which amends the Rural Affairs and Agriculture Committee Report, dated February 21, 2019 (Attachment E).
