Representative Froelich and Representative McKean, co-prime bill sponsors, presented House Bill 20-1156. The bill makes various changes to the Colorado Municipal Election Code, including:

 

• adding an alternative affirmation to be included with absentee ballots for active military/overseas voters;

• eliminating the requirement for mail ballots to include a ballot stub and duplicate stub;

• changing the deadlines for filing candidate nominating petitions and withdrawing a nomination; and

• changing the wording of the self-affirmation that appears on the return envelope for mail ballots.

Representative Froelich explained amendment L.001 (Attachment A).
