Driver Education Requirements with AAA Colorado - Committee Discussion Only

Skyler McKinley,
Regional Director of Public Affairs for AAA Colorado, introduced himself
and began his presentation on driver education requirements in Colorado.
 AAA's presentation is included as Attachment G.  Mr. McKinley
discussed the increasing danger of driving on Colorado roadways, statistics
on the increase in road deaths, equity issues around road fatalities, and
the economic impacts of vehicle crashes.  Mr. McKinley discussed the
current status of driver's education class requirements in Colorado and
the deficiencies in those requirements, the differences between requirements
in other states in comparison to Colorado, and finally presented suggestions
for what sensible reforms to the driver's education system would look like
in Colorado.
