Representative Melton, bill sponsor, presented House Bill 18-1146. The bill continues the issuance of licences and certificates related to measurement standards in the Department of Agriculture, which is scheduled to repeal on July 1, 2018.  The program is continued through September 1, 2033.  Representative Melton answered questions from the committee.  The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies 2017 Sunset Review:  Measurement Standards Act of 1983 [Attachment D] was distributed to the committee.

Representative Leonard explained amendment L.001 [Attachment E], which would have extended the program through September 1, 2023.  There was committee discusion about changing amendment L.001 to extend the program through September 1, 2028.  Representative Melton made comments to the committee.  Committee discussion about amending the bill ensued.
