Senator Cooke, sponsor, explained HB18-1210, concerning peace officer status for the administrator of judicial security in the Colorado Judicial Department.   He emphasized that the bill does not replace sheriffs at a courthouse but allows for information sharing between the various agencies involved with courthouse security,

Chris Ryan, State Court Administrator in the Judicial Department, spoke in support of the bill.  He stated that the bill simply provides access to information. Without POST certification, information cannot be shared between law enforcement agencies.
