Representatives Primavera and Nordberg, co-prime sponsors, introduced House Bill 16-1175. The bill, recommended by the Legislative Audit Committee, requires the sharing of information among state and local government agencies to help identify applicants that do not meet the legal requirements for the Senior and Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemptions. Representative Primavera addressed a committee question regarding information sharing between the Colorado Department of Revenue and the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). Committee discussion ensued regarding a legislative audit concerning the Senior and Disabled Veteran Homestead Exemptions.



10:58 AM -- Ms. JoAnn Groff , representing DOLA, came to the table in support of the bill. She distributed a handout explaining the legislative audit (Attachment A). She responded to committee questions regarding the recovery of funds erroneously sent to counties by the state.

11:25 AM -- Ms. Zoey DeWolf, representing the Colorado County Treasurer's Association, came to the table to testify against the bill. She proposed an amendment to the bill. Committee discussion ensued regarding county reimbursement of funds to the state.
