Majority Leader K. Becker and Representative J. Becker, co-prime sponsors, presented Senate Bill 17-267, which makes several long-term changes to areas of state policy that affect rural communities, including changes to the Hospital Provider Fee and authorizing lease-purchase agreements for future transportation and capital construction projects. The bill sponsors responded to questions from the committee. In response to a question, Representative K. Becker distributed a handout showing the impact of budget cuts on the Hospital Provider Fee for various hospitals (Attachment C).
