and McLachlan, co-prime sponsors, provided an introduction to House Bill
23-1194 concerning efforts to remediate risks associated with closed landfills.
 The bill creates the Closed Landfill Remediation Grant Program and
requires the Department of Public Health to work with local governments
before taking enforcement actions related to closed landfills.  The
bill also creates a dispute resolution program to resolve disputes between
local governments and the department related to closed landfills.
