Discussion of Technical and Substantive Changes to Previously Adopted Standards - Committee Discussion Only

The chair announced
that a vote would not be taken at the meeting. She explained the current
revision process for the standards and the subgroup that is meeting to
make the revisions. She invited other commissioners to join the revision
subgroup. She asked subgroup representatives on the revision subgroup to
explain what changes have been made. Commissioner Anderson commented that
some of the changes that have been made relate to writing standards rather
than policies.

and Anderson explained the revisions made to the sections of the standards
written by subgroup 1.

Commissioner Karbach discussed revisions to the communication and visitation standards written by subgroup 2.

Commissioner Reed spoke about the changes made to the housing, recreation and programming, and food service standards originally written by subgroup 3. Other members of the revision subgroup commented about Commissioner Reed's update.

Commissioner Demo updated the commission about the revisions to the security standards written by subgroup 4. He commented about the fact that the use of force standards have not been approved by the full commission. Elizabeth Burger, Legislative Council Staff, responded to this issue.
