The Legislative Council Staff’s Water Policy Handbook is intended to serve as a reference guide to Colorado's water policies and programs.  The book is divided into three parts.  Each part covers a different aspect of Colorado water law and policy.
 

The General Assembly considered multiple bills related to water, including legislation focused on project funding, xeriscaping, studying various water challenges across the state, and stream restoration.

Pursuant to Article 98 of Title 37, Colorado Revised Statutes. The purpose of this committee is to oversee the conservation, use, development, and financing of Colorado's water resources.

Pursuant to Section 31-31-1001, Colorado Revised Statutes. The purpose of the committee is to study and develop proposed legislation relating to funding of police officers' and firefighters' pensions in this state and the benefit designs of such pension plans.

Pursuant to Section 31-31-2001, C.R.S. The purpose of this commission is to study and review the benefit systems of the Fire and Police Pension Association.

The General Assembly considered several measures related to local government during the 2023 legislative session, including bills regarding local government operations, metropolitan districts, public employees, electric vehicles, and safety.

During the 2022 legislative session, the General Assembly passed numerous measures related to the liquor, nicotine, marijuana, and gaming industries.

During the 2017 legislative session, the General Assembly considered measures related to affordable housing, landlord-tenant agreements, construction defects, and homelessness.

Interactions between landlords and tenants,  funding related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and construction were major topics during the 2020 legislative session.
