Representative Sias, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 16-006 to the committee. The reengrossed bill, as amended by the House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee, requires the Colorado health benefit exchange, Connect for Health Colorado, to provide certain information about insurance brokers and health care navigators when consumers contact Connect for Health Colorado and request assistance. In addition, Connect for Health Colorado must maintain web-based tools that allow brokers to maintain client relationships with consumers eligible to enroll in private health insurance and who request broker assistance. This bill was originally recommended by the Colorado Health Insurance Exchange Oversight Committee.
Representative Sias also presented amendment L.006 (Attachment AA). Committee members discussed the bill and amendment with Representative Sias.
