Concerning the continuation of the "Barber and Cosmetologist Act", and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendations of the department of regulatory agencies in the department's 2025 sunset report.
Bill Summary:
The act implements the recommendations of the department of regulatory agencies in its 2025 sunset review and report by:
- Continuing the 'Barber and Cosmetologist Act' for 7 years until 2033;
- Repealing the advisory committee;
- Updating definitions and terminology within the 'Barber and Cosmetologist Act';
- Specifying certain services and providers that are exempt from the 'Barber and Cosmetologist Act'; and
- Replacing gendered language with gender-neutral language.
