Senators Fields and Holbert, co-prime sponsors, explained HB20B-1007 concerning the recreation, with amendments, of the "Occupational Therapy Practice Act", and, in connection therewith, reestablishing the licensing functions of the director of the division of professions and occupations in the Department of Regulatory Agencies regarding occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants.
 
Senator Fields distributed a copy of Executive Order D 2020-259 and argued that the bill falls within the scope of the special session.  Committee discussion followed as to whether the bill is under the call of the Executive Order.  The bill sponsors emphasized the importance of occupational therapists.

Committee discussion ensued about legal challenges and the bill fitting under the call of the Special Session.  Committee members discussed the possibility of introducing this same measure in January, when the General Assembly reconvenes, instead.
