The primary bill
sponsors, Representatives Luck and Willford, introduced House Bill 26-1092
to the House Health and Human Services Committee. The bill prohibits public
health facilities from denying full medical staff privileges to certified
nurse midwives and certified midwives based solely on their licensure.
The privileges must include the ability to admit and discharge patients
directly without requiring a physicianâs cosignature, be consistent with
privileges granted to other medical staff, and include the same voting
rights as other staff.
