LeeAnne Sanders,
Director, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union (RMFU), introduced her role and
the goal of the AgWell initiative. She discussed how AgWell is aimed at
preventing crisis in the agricultural community and referring individuals
to professional services. She spoke about community events that RMFU hosts
around the state to bring people in the industry together to hep build
relationships, workshops and presentations for producers, and training
for how to have structured conversations before someone is in crisis.

Director Sanders discussed the federal grants that have funded the AgWell program for the last four years. She told the committee that they recently learned the funding was frozen, which resulted in the need to pause all programming. She talked about how RMFU was able to successfully fundraise the funds needed to keep the programming going and how they are continuing to apply for future federal funds. |
