Attorney with the Office of Legislative Legal Services, explained to the
committee that the amendment L.001 will amend Senate Bill 23-102 in case
the new bill being introduced to extend DORA statutory authority for the
marijuana rules is not passed then the rules will not be extended. Senate
Bill 23-102 should be passed as soon as possible to ensure the bill will
become effective by May 15, 2023, which is the deadline for these rules.
