Law Colorado, discussed proposed draft legislation on jail standards. The
draft bill would continue the Legislative Oversight Committee on Colorado
Jail Standards, and outline the specific responsibilities of the committee.
An advisory committee would be created in the County Sheriffs of Colorado
(CSOC)  that would create reports on jails that would go to the oversight
committee and the Attorney General's Office. The advisory committee would
also make recommendations on updating the jail standards. He described
the Attorney General Office's role in the process.

described the bill draft approval process, and noted that the committee
is authorizing drafting of the bill at today's meeting, and final approval
will occur in the future. She explained that the bill does not have to
be reviewed by Legislative Council.
