Presentation of the Report of the Jail Standards Commission on Recommended Colorado Jail Standards - Committee Discussion Only

Meghan Baker, Chair
of the Jail Standards Commission, began the presentation regarding the
Jail Standards Commission and its report of recommendations. The report
is included as Attachment A.




She described the process of revising the recommended jail standards and
the members of the group that worked to revise the standards. Ms. Baker
reviewed the report and its recommendations. She describe the philosophy
of the commission, and noted that the report recommends a phased implementation
for the standards.

Jamison Brown, Colorado Jail Association, testified regarding the Jail Standards Commission and the process used by the commission to create jail standards. He thanked the commission for their work.
