Sunset Advisory Council Parent Involvement in Education

Concerning the continuation of the Colorado state advisory council for parent involvement in education, and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendation contained in the 2023 sunset report by the department of regulatory agencies and making an appropriation.

Bill Summary

Sunset Process - House Education Committee. The bill implements the recommendation of the department of regulatory agencies in its sunset review of the Colorado state advisory council for parent involvement in education (advisory council) by continuing the advisory council indefinitely. The bill continues the Colorado state advisory council for parent involvement in education (advisory council) until September 1, 2030. Prior to its repeal, the advisory council will have a sunset review conducted by the department of regulatory agencies. The bill adds a representative of the department of early childhood to serve on the advisory council. The bill amends, and adds to, the advisory council's duties.
