Sunset Concurrent Enrollment Advisory Board

Concerning the continuation of the concurrent enrollment advisory board, and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendation in the department of regulatory agencies' 2023 sunset report.

Bill Summary

Sunset Process - House Education Committee. The bill implements the recommendation of the department of regulatory agencies issued in its sunset review of the concurrent enrollment advisory board (advisory board) by continuing the advisory board indefinitely. The bill repeals the concurrent enrollment advisory board (advisory board) on September 1, 2027. Prior to the repeal, the department of regulatory agencies will conduct a sunset review and make recommendations concerning its continuation. The bill requires the advisory board to work with the department of education, department of higher education, and the community college system that supports the enrollment of first-generation students, low-income students, and students of color in concurrent enrollment programs.
